Kbalromeas and Srekor villager marched from Ministry of Interior to Priminister Cabinet to submit the petition

On 29 August 2017, fifteen indigenous communities from Kbal Romeas and Srekor village affected by Sesan hydropower dams, submitted petition to Ministry of Interior and the Cabinet of Prime Minister Hun Sen to claiming back the public services such as schools, hospitals, administrative, and stop the armed forces to  threat and force indigenous people to eviction . According to Choeun Srey Mom said that under the development of the Lower Sesan Hydroelectric Dam, local authorities withdrew and shut down public services in Kambor Meas and Srokkor villages in 2015; moreover, they used armed forces to leave the villagers. And Mrs. Choeun Srey Mom argued that this was an act
of discrimination and violation of the rights of indigenous peoples, and this development has seriously affected the livelihoods. Previously, natural resources were stable, but now completely destroyed by the destruction of clearing the dam site. As the result, the Ministry of Interior and the Cabinet of  Prime Minister received and sent to officials to consider and solve this problem they said. Notify that they would be dispatched to the upper level for consideration and settlement. It is worth noting that the community of 6 villages which total 800 families affected in Srekor and Kbal Rommeas communes and whose 80% families received the compensation and more than 100 families in Kbal Rommum and Srok Kor village refuse to leave the village because they think that this village is priceless which including farmland, shrines, ancestors, forests, and other assets.
